A Cornbread customer suggested you. No Daiya! Thank god! I'm from SF and come through EU to PDX (my hometown) a few times a year. I just heard about you and am so excited to enter the mecca of amazing vegan pizza. A new Southern Oregon culinary destination? I'm so excited to try your pies! See you soon!

Hello,

I am writing this letter to inquire about short or long

term volunteer and or employment opportunities you may offer.

My partner and I will be available starting in Sept. and are

looking for a experience that will strengthen our interests

in health, yoga, spirituality and personal development. My

most recent Job(laid Off on April 25th) has been out of the

field at High Peaks Cyclery/High Peaks Guides in Lake Placid

NY.(Adirondack State Park). My position fulfilled many roles

(bike tech. ski tech./tuner, sales, merchandising, ordering,

shipping %26 receiving, inventory etc.) but what applies is

that I was also the resident health food chef for guided

trips and encampments. I would like to send my culinary arts

resume and my complete work history. I appreciate any and all

considerations. Please feel free to contact me in regards to

any interest in establishing dialogue at your convenience.
Thank you and take care,
Shawn Kolpak

Subject:cheese on your pizza

I am surveying locally owned pizza restaurants to see which ones use cheese made from cows that were not treated with growth hormones. Can you please tell me the source of the cheese you use. Since the cows treated with growth hormone are given high doses of antibiotic which could lead to antibiotic resistance I would like to avoid them. Since the hormones can also increase IGF-1 in the milk from these cows, and IGF-1 could be a contributor to cancers of the breast, prostate, colon and lungs I further want to avoid them. I hope to find at least one pizza restaurant in Eugene that uses cheese from cows not treated with rGBH or rBST.

Dear PRI,
I've heard your pizza is amazing, mouth-watering and legendary. That you do vegan is great (since I'm dairy-free), but I was wondering if you do any gluten-free crusts as well?? I'd love to visit with my friends, but gluten-free is a must, so if you could let me know, I'd really appreciate it!

Best,

Subject:Inquiry for inkind donation to nonprofit- The Bus Project

Hello,

My name is Rachel, I am the Director at the local non-profit organization, The Bus Project, Lane County Chapter. The Bus Project, not to be confused with mass transit -- although we like that sorta thing -- is an innovative vehicle for hands-on democracy. Our mission is to bring more people into democracy in a way that is accessible, fun, and makes a big impact. We empower and engage a new generation of leaders to participate in grassroots action that moves our local community forward.

We're in the middle of a massive Bus Trip season and Voter Registration season. During election seasons, Bus Trips are our big volunteer canvasses, where up to 30 volunteers come out and make a huge difference in some of the closest races in our community, by getting out the vote. This summer and fall, we are hosting 15 Bus Trips. Our volunteer Bus riders drive change by knocking on hundreds of doors and bringing new people into democracy. We take an afternoon to work in races for forward-thinking candidates who will likely win or lose by just a few votes. Also, we go out into the community to register new people and bring them into democracy with us. Then we throw a party.

We’re getting in touch with you to ask for in kind donations for our rockstar volunteers. To encourage them to talk with lots of registered or prospective voters and do their best while they’re out in the community, we give each participant a coupon for a local treat in Eugene.

We were hoping that Pizza Research Institute would be able to donate a couple gift certificates for some of the volunteers that go above and beyond, to give them as a first prize at out next Bus Trip on August 21st, 2010 or door prizes for all the volunteers that come out. As an Oregon-based non-profit, we’re excited to partner with you, a local Eugene business, and encourage our volunteers and interns to stop by Pizza Research Institute next time they’re craving good local food. We’ll be sure to give you a shout-out at all of our events and on our popular Facebook page, too.

Thanks for your time, we hope to hear from you soon!
*Rachel
